Hello and welcome back!
Today I wanted to write a follow up blog from one of my post earlier on. Cast you minds back to when I wrote about my tattoo designs and what tattoos I wanted. If you haven’t read it yet you can find it here:
You can also find the post about my dino tat here:
The follow up from this is that I finally got the sternum tattoo that I wanted for years! My design was tweaked slightly so that it would come out better on the skin, which is understandable. Below is a photo of my design (Without the script that was on the design in the previous post, and then a photo of the finished tattoo.
So, the next obvious thing to talk about is the pain. I was, quite frankly, crapping my pat over getting this tattoo. Everyone that I had spoken to had told me that it was a really painful place. So I had worked myself up into a frenzy. I booked the consultation just to talk about the design and make any changes that needed making. I wasn’t actually planning on booking the session yet but I ended up doing so at the end of the consultation.
When the day came, internally I was a mess! I was terrified of the pain and whether I would be able to sit through the whole session. Let’s just say there was nothing to worry about. The pain was absolutely fine. I actually think that overall the pain of the whole sternum piece was less than the pain of my tiny wrist tat. I think the real reason for this is because the people who said it would be really painful are generally a lot smaller than me which means that it would have hurt them more because it is not a particularly fleshy place. I, however am fairly fleshy everywhere which worked in my favour for this.
As you may have noticed, the design that I originally drew up for this tattoo had script on either side. I was removed because of the location of the tattoo. The mantra, however is actually very important to me so I have actually started to design a whole new tattoo cantered around the mantra. When I have a finalised idea for this I will share it with you, but for now it is just ideas.
I think now, I may have garnered a bit of a taste for tattoos and I will of course update you on any that I get in the future.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed.
